The Cultural Immersion Institute – Stay to Talk and the Emília Conceição Babo Association started this Social Impact Project “Orange Generation: Heritage as a Promoter of Mental Health” in November 2024. This is a three-year project, to take place in schools in Amarante and is being implemented through a pilot methodology (Roots Methodology) that aims to strengthen the socio-emotional skills of children in the 5th grade of school. In this way, the project aims to minimize mental health problems and technological overstimulation and contribute to the formation of a generation that recognizes itself in its Heritage – Memory, Territory and Identity.
The Project “Orange Generation: Heritage as a Promoter of Mental Health” is a project financed by the financial instrument Partnerships for the Impact of Social Innovation Portugal. Its social investors, those who believe in and contribute to its success, are the Municipality of Amarante, Pingo Doce and the construction company Nunanda – Engenharia e Construções, Lda.
The Conference “Screens and Mental Health: (un)rooted culture” is part of the action plan of the aforementioned project and aims, from a transdisciplinary perspective that combines psychology, education and cultural studies, to open a space for debate on practices of rooted culture, which promote mental well-being not only in real contexts and/or in cyberspace.
Access to the Conference is free, but registration is mandatory.
